Seung Yul is Korean by way of New Zealand, and I always thought he brought a much-needed cheekiness to the art scene. In 2010, Sung Yul received the prestigious Harriet Friedlander New York Residency which, “sends an artist to New York for as long as $80,000 will last them.”
